Ledger Integrates Private Zcash Support, Fueling Further Price Gains
Hardware wallet provider Ledger has rolled out an update to its desktop app, allowing users to hold private Zcash (ZEC) balances. This feature was previously unavailable, requiring users to use a separate third-party app.
The update comes as Zcash trades at $1,516, up 84% in the last month and 23% over seven days. The asset is ranked ninth by market value.
Ledger's Chief Technology Officer Charles Guillemet emphasized that private data never leaves the user's computer. This means users have full control over their shielded balances.
However, there are some limitations to this new feature. Private ZEC cannot be swapped without first making it public, and the original Nano S wallet is not compatible with the feature.
