At the Future Proof conference, Bitmine Immersion Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: BMNR) Chairman Tom Lee made some bold claims about the future of finance and blockchain technology.
Lee argued that major financial institutions should be valued like tech companies due to the rise of AI and blockchain, which are fundamentally changing the industry.
He pointed out that traditional banking infrastructure is ill-equipped to handle autonomous payments made by robots, creating significant fraud risks and institutional vulnerabilities.
Lee sees blockchain technology as a solution to these problems, stating, 'So there's a real innovation taking place in the financial services world... actually, a lot of it is going to be built on blockchain.'
He believes this structural shift will make crypto a 'huge winner' over the long term, with top financial firms eventually trading at higher price-to-earnings multiples.
