Lee Defies Regulators: Bitcoin Market May Continue Rally Despite Clarity Act Failure
Tom Lee, chairman of BitMine and a well-known cryptocurrency analyst, believes that despite the recent setback for the CLARITY Act in the US Senate, the cryptocurrency market could continue its rally. The bill aimed to establish a comprehensive regulatory framework for the sector, but it failed to advance due to lacking votes.
Lee emphasized that real user and investor demand is more important than any single regulation for the future of the cryptocurrency market. He noted that even without a clear regulatory framework, sectors like prediction markets have shown growth in areas with strong demand despite regulatory uncertainty.
The analyst also reiterated his views on Ethereum's institutional use, stating that it would be illogical for financial institutions to switch to alternative networks due to concerns about code security, adoption, market makers, or node operators. Lee believes that Ethereum is currently the preferred platform for financial institutions and that switching could create unnecessary technical and operational problems.
