LEO: The Billion-Dollar Crypto Asset That Almost Nobody Talks About
UNUS SED LEO (LEO), a utility token for the iFinex ecosystem, has quietly become one of the top 11 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, reaching nearly $9 billion in value. Despite its large valuation, LEO rarely makes headlines or trends on social media, unlike popular assets like Bitcoin and Ethereum.
This is due to its unique purpose as a utility token, designed to provide benefits within the iFinex ecosystem, including Bitfinex. Token holders receive discounts on trading fees, lower lending costs, reduced withdrawal fees, and priority access to selected platform services.
LEO was launched in 2019 after iFinex lost access to approximately $850 million held by payment processor Crypto Capital. Instead of a public ICO, iFinex privately sold 1 billion LEO tokens, raising around $1 billion to strengthen its balance sheet.
