Leumi Becomes First Israeli Bank to Offer Digital Asset Trading
Bank Leumi, Israel's largest bank, has partnered with Galaxy Digital to offer its customers trading services for Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), and Solana (SOL) through their investment platform.
The service is expected to launch in early 2027, making Leumi the first Israeli bank to provide digital asset trading services to its customers.
Customers of Leumi and Pepper, its mobile banking arm, will be able to buy, hold, and sell these three cryptocurrencies through a dedicated section of the Leumi Trade app.
The partnership utilizes GalaxyOne Institutional for trading and related services, while Galaxy's custody infrastructure platform supports the bank's digital asset infrastructure.
Galaxy Digital reported an $85 million net loss in the second quarter, attributing it largely to declining digital asset prices. However, its digital assets business generated $66 million in adjusted gross profit, up 34% from the previous quarter.
