Leveraged Funds Narrow Net Short Exposure Amid Decline in Long Positions
Leveraged funds holding Bitcoin futures positions saw their net short exposure narrow significantly in the week to September 29, according to data from CryptoRank. The Commodity Futures Trading Commission's (CFTC) latest figures show that these funds' reported shorts fell by approximately 5,300 BTC-equivalent, a decline of about 12%.
This reduction in short exposure was accompanied by a decrease in long positions, with the funds' aggregate longs falling by around 909 BTC-equivalent. As a result, their net short position narrowed from 40,110.83 to 35,720.13 BTC-equivalent.
However, it's essential to note that these funds still hold more shorts than longs, with their combined short exposure exceeding their longs by a significant margin.
