Leveraged Trader Machi Big Brother Loses $5M in Single Week
Machi Big Brother, a well-known digital art collector and crypto trader, has suffered significant losses due to his leveraged trades on Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH). With a total of $6 million in holdings, he had opened leveraged plays worth $151 million on Hyperliquid. The seasoned trader was expecting to capitalize on the September 15, 2026 vote on the CLARITY Act, but everything didn't go as smoothly.
The 40x long position on Bitcoin's (BTC) price, which was valued at around $44 million, had to be trimmed and eventually closed out due to a 1.61% drop in market value. The current price of BTC is at $75K.
As of now, Machi Big Brother's only remaining leveraged play is the 25x position on Ethereum's (ETH) price, which has also seen significant losses, down by $983.16K from its initial entry point of $2.47K. The account's weekly stats show a decline from $7 million to sub-$1M.
The market is now focused on Ethereum's ability to hold the $2,400 support line in the post-CLARITY vote scenario. If ETH fails to maintain this level, it could trigger a domino effect of price liquidations with sensitive liquidity clusters between $2,350 to $2,390.
