LG CNS and Securitize Partner to Boost Tokenized Assets in South Korea
South Korea is gearing up for a major leap in tokenized assets, thanks to a new partnership between LG CNS and Securitize. On October 6, 2026, LG CNS launched its blockchain infrastructure platform, KITL (Keystone of Institutional Trust Landscape), and signed agreements with five global blockchain firms, including Securitize. This move is strategic, as South Korea is set to implement new rules for tokenized securities in February 2027, and LG CNS aims to establish the necessary infrastructure ahead of time.
The KITL platform is designed to support stablecoins, tokenized securities, and real-world asset services for Korean financial institutions, including banks, securities firms, and payment providers. Securitize's role is to co-develop solutions for tokenizing funds and bonds, ensuring compliance with South Korea's regulatory framework. KITL integrates digital wallets, transaction processing, fee sponsorship, and transaction history collection across multiple digital assets and public blockchains, offering a consolidated system for institutions.
LG CNS has already validated KITL through the Bank of Korea’s Project Hangang, a pilot involving seven banks and approximately 80,000 customers. The partnership with Securitize adds a global tokenization expert to LG CNS’s offerings, positioning the platform to cut operational costs and accelerate deployment for institutions preparing for the upcoming regulations. However, specific tokenized products or live issuances have not been detailed yet.
The February 2027 deadline is crucial, as it marks the expected implementation of new frameworks for tokenized securities in South Korea. The Securitize collaboration is specifically aimed at ensuring regulatory compliance for tokenizing funds and bonds. The market will be watching for the actual rules, any announcements of tokenized fund or bond issuances on KITL, and which Korean institutions become early adopters.
