Lido, a major Ethereum staking project, has begun consolidating around one-fifth of all staked ETH onto larger validators. This represents more than 8 million ETH, worth approximately $16 billion.

The consolidation is part of the Curated Module v2 rollout, which enables professional node operators to secure more stake with fewer individual validators. These larger validators can hold up to 2,048 ETH instead of the previous maximum of 32 ETH.

Lido's Chief of Staking, Isidoros Passadis, noted that this upgrade is the 'biggest change' to how Lido Core staking works since Lido V2. The consolidation will reduce Ethereum's total validator count by around one-third, easing load on the network.
