Lido Core Upgrade Boosts Ethereum Staking Efficiency with Higher Validator Limits
Lido Core has released an upgrade for its Ethereum staking framework, aiming to boost efficiency and decentralization. The new update enables validators to work with higher staking amounts while reducing the number of validator addresses on the network.
The upgrade includes the integration of Ethereum's 0x02 withdrawal credentials via Curated Module v2, allowing validators to increase their actual amount of staked ETH from 32 ETH to 2,048 ETH. This is expected to reduce complexity and enhance infrastructure efficiency without affecting the staking process via Lido.
The update may lead to a decrease in the number of validators on the Ethereum network, potentially lowering it from 880,000 to 628,000. However, this migration process has yet to begin, and these numbers are considered speculative.
