Lido's New Staking Route Requires Higher Entry Bond
Lido's proposed new staking route would require validators to post a 32 ETH ($2,698.57) entry bond, significantly higher than the default 2.4 ETH required for existing validators.
This increased collateral requirement is expected to become more efficient once enough stake is allocated to the validator, but an operator's profile and place in the funding queue will determine how useful this advantage is.
The new route, Community Staking Module 0x02, would support compounding validators with up to 2,048 ETH of effective stake, compared to 32 ETH for existing-route validators. The module remains on Hoodi testnet, with mainnet expected in Q4 2026.
