LINK Goes Native on Solana via Sunrise and Chainlink CCIP
Chainlink's LINK has become a native asset on Solana, after being integrated via Sunrise and Chainlink CCIP. This move allows users to directly access and trade LINK within the Solana ecosystem.
The integration was facilitated by Raydium, which provided the first trading markets for LINK/USDC. On its first day of trading, approximately $3.8 million in volume was traded on this pair.
Native assets like LINK aim to reduce liquidity fragmentation caused by multiple wrapped versions coexisting. This can lead to reduced fees and increased efficiency for users.
However, Chainlink CCIP also carries risks related to smart contracts, message verification, and liquidity. Users are advised to verify the official mint address and not trade solely based on token names.
