The Liquid Network has suffered a significant security exploit that resulted in the theft of 4,000 BTC. The hackers initially warned Blockstream to fix the vulnerability before transferring the stolen funds back to the network.

After Blockstream addressed the issue, the attackers returned approximately 3,400 BTC, valued at around $268 million, to the Liquid Federation's multisig wallet.

This represents about 85% of the drained funds. However, the hackers still hold onto 598.5 BTC, sparking concerns over the future stability of L-BTC and its peg with Bitcoin.
