Lisk Chain Shutdown Sparks LSK Price Surge Amid Warning Signs
Lisk Chain has announced its plans to shut down on October 31st, 2026. The shutdown includes the DAO governance system, staking, and all governance-related programs running on the chain.
However, the LSK token itself will not be discontinued. Existing holders of LSK tokens face a challenge as they need to move their tokens from the Lisk Chain to Ethereum before the shutdown. This process involves unstaking, which takes at least three days, followed by a bridge process that may take up to seven days.
The announcement has led to an unexpected surge in LSK token prices, with a 344.5% hike in the past 24 hours. The current price of LSK is $0.9428. According to Trading View, this can be classified as an 'exit pump,' where traders are buying the token anticipating a short-term profit.
However, experts warn that this surge may not last long due to incoming major selling pressure from bears. As Pricesync's founder noted, there will be no future demand in LSK after the shutdown.
