Lisk Shuts Down Blockchain: LSK Token Holders Must Bridge Assets by October 21 Deadline
Lisk is shutting down its blockchain on October 31, 2026. This means that any LSK tokens still sitting directly on the chain or locked up in staking will be unreachable after that date.
To avoid losing access to their tokens, holders need to bridge them to Ethereum before the deadline. However, this process has a catch: it takes at least seven days, and there are two waiting periods involved - unlocking staked tokens takes three days, and the bridge transfer to Ethereum takes at least seven.
Lisk advises holders to start the process no later than ten days before the shutdown, which is October 21. The company has provided a migration path for development teams operating applications on the Lisk Chain in collaboration with the Celo team.
