LIT Surges on Social Hype and Deflationary Tokenomics Narrative
The price of Lighter (LIT) surged by 3.97% in recent hours, driven primarily by social media hype and narratives rather than a single listing or protocol change.
One key narrative behind LIT's rise is its deflationary tokenomics. Several posts highlighted the project's permanent burn of 15.5 million LIT and over 17.3 million LIT repurchased and locked, which traders saw as creating long-term supply compression and justifying a strong chart.
The circulating and non-tradable supply breakdown also contributed to the narrative-driven uptrend. A detailed post argued that only 46% of total LIT is in trading, with around 17.45 million LIT already bought back and 15.63 million burned, plus about 116.48 million LIT staked. This led traders to believe that the truly tradable float may be closer to 25% of total supply.
The visibility of airdrop and points campaigns also played a role in driving attention towards LIT. A digest-style post highlighted Lighter as the first item in a 'crypto digest', flagging that the estimated valuation of the project's second drop exceeded about $42 million, with LIT trading around $4 at the time.
Influential accounts explicitly promoted LIT during this period, associating it with other major tokens and predicting significant price increases. A futures signal service posted a fresh long signal on LIT with defined targets of approximately 3, 6, and 12% upside from entry, labeling the trade as high risk but bullish.
