Litecoin Expands Beyond Native Blockchain with cbLTC Launch on Solana

Litecoin has expanded its reach beyond its native blockchain with the launch of Coinbase's wrapped Litecoin, cbLTC, on the Solana network via Sunrise.

The integration is facilitated through Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP), which allows Solana users to use cbLTC from Coinbase. This brings additional uses for Litecoin aside from its existing applications.

According to Coinbase, wrapped tokens are tokenized on a 1:1 basis with the underlying assets, ensuring that users have access to specific blockchain features and retain exposure to the underlying crypto asset.
