Litecoin Prices Soar to Eight-Month High Amid Network Activity Surge
The Litecoin price has surged, reaching its highest point in eight months.
Despite being written off by many as dead and buried, Litecoin has staged a remarkable comeback. In one day alone, over $1 billion of value moved through the network, with the price rising by more than 13% to reach a new high of over $70 per coin.
This surge in price is being driven by real-world activity on the network, rather than just speculation or hype. On September 22nd, over 17 million Litecoin changed hands on the network, with the total value transferred reaching almost $1 billion. This level of activity is significant, even if it doesn't match the peak seen in May when over $2.5 billion was moved.
The price increase has been driven by a combination of factors, including the growth in spot trading volumes and the expansion of open interest on futures markets. While some market participants are concerned about the pace of the rally, others see it as a sign that Litecoin is finally starting to gain traction.
