Litecoin Surges Past Ethereum in Crypto Payment Rankings
Litecoin's practical utility for payment processing has driven its rise to second place among cryptocurrency payment preferences, surpassing Ethereum and major stablecoins in July data from Lithuanian payment processor CoinGate.
The company's data shows that Litecoin captured 14.5% of crypto payments in July, edging out USDC (14%) and USDT (12.2%), while Bitcoin maintained its leading position with 22.9% of all crypto transactions processed through the platform.
Litecoin's technical advantages, including faster transaction speeds and lower fees compared to Bitcoin, make it attractive for merchants and consumers conducting everyday transactions.
