Litecoin vs Bitcoin: Which Cryptocurrency Will Outperform by 2030?
Investors considering putting $1,000 into either Bitcoin (BTC) or Litecoin (LTC) may want to weigh their options carefully before making a decision. While Litecoin has outperformed Bitcoin over the past month, its five-year track record tells a different story.
Currently, a $1,000 investment would allow you to purchase approximately 0.012 BTC at $84,388 or about 15 LTC at $68. Looking ahead to 2030, the potential returns on each investment are significant.
However, if both coins reach their recent highs, Litecoin's investment could be worth more. Bitcoin would need to climb back to its all-time high of $126,198 from October 2025, a 49.5% increase from its current price, to grow the investment to about $1,495. In contrast, Litecoin has room for growth since it is trading further below its past highs.
If Litecoin returns to its February 2025 high of $140 (a 105% increase from $68), the Litecoin investment would be worth approximately $2,050. If it reaches its former peak of $410 from May 2021, that stake could grow to about $6,000.
