LSE and Kraken Partner for Tokenized UK Equities

Share

The London Stock Exchange (LSE) has formed a strategic partnership with Payward, the parent company of Kraken, to launch tokenized UK equities. This move is aimed at digitizing equity shares from the top 100 LSE-listed corporations and making them accessible to investors worldwide.

The xStocks platform, developed by Payward, has already facilitated over $40 billion in cumulative trading activity, with approximately $20 billion processed through blockchain settlement.

Under this agreement, every xStock token will maintain a one-to-one correspondence with an actual underlying share, establishing a direct equivalence between digital tokens and traditional securities. The platform is open to qualified investors across more than 110 jurisdictions worldwide, but UK residents are currently ineligible due to regulatory constraints.
