LSE Partners with Payward to Merge Traditional and Digital Markets
The London Stock Exchange (LSE) has partnered with Payward, the parent company of crypto exchange Kraken, to explore how traditional and digital markets can be merged. This collaboration is part of LSE's wider tokenised equity strategy.
According to LSE, the partnership will enable the connection of regulated capital markets with on-chain ecosystems. This means that issuers and investors can make greater use of private and public blockchains while still meeting regulatory obligations such as AML and operational resilience.
LSE plans to list xStocks, 1:1 tokenised representations of publicly traded shares, on LSE 24, the stock exchange's 24-hour trading platform set to launch in 2027. However, this listing is subject to regulatory approval.
