LSE Teams Up with Kraken's Parent for Tokenized UK Equities Launch

Share

The London Stock Exchange (LSE) has partnered with Payward, the parent company of cryptocurrency exchange Kraken, to launch tokenized UK equities. This collaboration will allow investors across over 110 jurisdictions to buy and sell digital share tokens representing the top 100 LSE-listed companies.

xStocks, the platform behind this initiative, has already facilitated over $40 billion in trading activity, with approximately $20 billion processed through blockchain settlement.

The LSE plans to feature xStocks on its upcoming around-the-clock trading platform, LSE 24, pending regulatory clearance. The exchange also intends to explore native blockchain-issued securities that would have identical rights to conventional shares.
