LSE Teams Up with Payward to Tokenise Shares of Britain's Biggest Companies
The London Stock Exchange has partnered with Payward to advance tokenization of UK stocks, making shares tradable onchain around the clock.
Under this agreement, shares of the 100 largest LSE-listed companies will be made available through Payward's xStocks framework, which has already logged over $40 billion in trading volume since launch.
The tokenized shares will be accessible to eligible investors across more than 110 countries, but UK-based investors are currently excluded from buying them. The LSE plans to eventually list xStocks on its upcoming 24-hour trading venue, pending regulatory approval.
