Shiba Inu Community Burns Over 588M Tokens in August

The Shiba Inu community continued to reduce its circulating supply in August by burning over 588 million tokens. According to Shibburn, a community burn tracker, this represents a total of 588,207,327 SHIB burned throughout the month.

This figure marks a significant decline from July's burn rate, which soared by 1,395% with 3.24 billion SHIB destroyed. However, August's burn activity slowed considerably, down 6.14% compared to the previous month.

The top Shiba Inu burner in August was WoofSwap V3, which sent 194 million SHIB to the burn address across 17 transactions. Other significant burners included unknown wallets that burned over 107 million and 40 million SHIB respectively.

Cryptocurrency exchanges CEX.IO, Robinhood, and Coinbase also made it into the top 10 Shiba Inu burners, with users potentially contributing to the burns through their activities on these platforms. ShibLaunchpad and another unidentified wallet rounded out the list, burning over 23 million SHIB each.
