Lummis Warns Crypto Rules Delayed Until 2030 Without CLARITY Act Passage
Senator Cynthia Lummis has warned that failure to pass the CLARITY Act in the current Congress could push back the next major opportunity for U.S. crypto market-structure legislation until 2030.
The Senate is scheduled to hold a 60-vote cloture test on September 15 to begin debate on the bill, which would not represent final passage of the act.
Lummis stated that the CLARITY Act could help protect customers through qualified custodians and segregated funds, while also supporting jobs, investment, and tax revenue.
