Lummis's Crypto Regulation Bill Blocked in Senate Tiebreaker Vote

Senator Cynthia Lummis's bill to regulate cryptocurrency, the CLARITY Act, was blocked in the U.S. Senate by a tiebreaker vote of 49-50.

Lummis, who has been dubbed the 'Crypto Queen', argued that her bipartisan-backed legislation would provide clarity and protection for consumers in the rapidly growing industry.

The bill aimed to define the roles of federal agencies, regulate secondary market trading, and prevent corruption by limiting politicians' personal crypto investments.

However, Senator Elizabeth Warren expressed concerns about the potential risks of corruption and inside dealing, citing President Trump's $1.4 billion in crypto earnings last year.
