Machine-Native Economy Gains Momentum with Growing AI Adoption
The Machine-Native Economy is an emerging framework for understanding where future demand for stablecoins, tokenized assets, public blockchains, and compute infrastructure could come from.
This concept was recently explored in a research paper by BlackRock, which notes that AI systems are becoming machine-native intelligence. Digital assets can become machine-native money, and blockchains may provide the programmable settlement layer connecting the two.
The Machine-Native Economy consists of three connected layers: Intelligence, Programmable Money and Ownership, and Settlement and Compute. The common thread is standardization, as machines need data, ownership rules, and payment instructions that they can interpret without relying on emails or manual approvals.
