A malware attack has reportedly drained over $235,000 from hundreds of cryptocurrency wallets in just 48 hours. The remote access trojan is suspected to have hijacked sessions and stolen funds, although it's unclear how victims are being infected. Separately, a linked scam tricked users into building an AI trading bot using a YouTube tutorial, but the code was designed to secretly drain their wallets.
About 224 wallets reportedly lost 274.6 ETH, worth around $517,000, with some victims asked to deposit an additional 50% after being drained. The stolen funds are mostly sitting in USDC, tied to a single wallet address.
