MANTRA Chain Halted After Exploit as Restart Awaits Patch Test
MANTRA Chain remains offline after an attacker exploited a vulnerability in an upstream dependency. The network was first frozen on Aug. 21 while the team reviewed the root cause and impact of the incident.
The team identified the vulnerable software as an upstream dependency but did not disclose its name. In its official incident record, MANTRA stated that it was tracing fund movements, working with exchange partners, and continuing to assess the complete scope of the attack.
A full network state snapshot was taken before the restart process began, and user funds were unaffected by the halt itself. However, transactions, transfers, and staking operations are unavailable while the mainnet is paused.
