The MANTRA Chain network halted all activity on August 21, 2026, due to an exploit that forced the developers to investigate and freeze all transactions. The incident led to a sharp decline in the price of MANTRA, falling 18.5% from $0.005060 to $0.004126, according to CoinGecko data.

Developers identified the exploit as a vulnerability in an upstream software dependency and began preparing a patched release. However, the network remained suspended, affecting validators, bridges, deposits, and withdrawals.

The incident occurred against an already weakened pricing base, with MANTRA's market capitalization near $27 million and its circulating supply at 5.59 billion tokens, according to CoinMarketCap data.

MANTRA Chain stated that the halt was a precautionary measure during the investigation, and validators would remain offline while developers worked on patching the vulnerability.
