MARA Holdings Buys $98 Million Worth of Bitcoin Amid AI Regulatory Fears
MARA Holdings has acquired 1,292 BTC worth over $98 million in a single transaction through FalconX. This purchase is significant as it marks one of MARA Holdings' largest on-chain accumulations after nearly a year.
The company had previously sold 23,093 BTC worth almost $1.63 billion this year amid its shift towards AI infrastructure services. With this latest buy, MARA Holdings now holds 35,577 BTC, including 9,270 BTC under its digital asset management strategy.
This transaction coincides with the CLARITY Act failing to pass the Senate cloture vote, sparking concerns about the regulatory environment for cryptocurrency. Meanwhile, AI executives have been calling for a slowdown in development and push for more safety rules.
