MARA Holdings (NASDAQ:MARA) saw its shares decline by 4.6% on August 7, 2026, as concerns were raised about the company's use of Bitcoin-backed AI strategy.

The decline in MARA's stock price came after the company announced that it had finalized two Bitcoin-secured loans worth a total of $750 million. This includes $600 million in fresh debt and a $150 million refinancing, with 18,750 Bitcoin serving as collateral for the facilities.

This represents 52.7% of MARA's Bitcoin holdings as of June, which is valued at approximately $1.21 billion based on Friday's Bitcoin price of around $64,760.
