MARA Holdings has significantly reduced its Bitcoin stash by nearly 18,250 BTC in just six months. As of June 30, the company's total Bitcoin holdings stood at 35,577 BTC, a decline of approximately 34% from 53,822 BTC at the end of 2025.

This reduction is part of MARA's updated strategy to monetize its Bitcoin holdings strategically and align with corporate objectives. The company has shifted away from its previous full-HODL approach, which prioritized retaining all mined and acquired Bitcoin.

In Q1 2026, MARA sold 20,880 BTC for roughly $1.5 billion, primarily using the proceeds to repurchase approximately $1 billion of convertible debt and strengthen its balance sheet.
