MARA Unloads $1.63B Worth of BTC Holdings
MARA, the world's largest publicly traded Bitcoin miner, has been active in the market. In the first half of 2026, MARA sold a significant amount of its BTC holdings. According to reports, the company sold about 23,093 BTC for $1.63 billion at an average price of roughly $70,631 per Bitcoin.
The proceeds from this sale were used by MARA for operational expenses, growth opportunities, and liquidity needs. As of June 30, MARA held a total of 35,577 BTC, worth around $2.08 billion.
In addition to the sale of its BTC holdings, MARA also secured $600 million in loans from Coinbase and Two Prime. These loans were backed by 18,750 BTC and were used partly to fund the company's Long Ridge acquisition.
