As the US stimulus debate heats up, Dogecoin cofounder Billy Markus joked about a $1.2 trillion DOGE buy, sparking lighthearted engagement from the crypto community.

The proposal to give each US adult a one-time payment of $5,000 has been met with skepticism by economists, who warn that it could stoke further inflation in the coming months.

Markus's tongue-in-cheek suggestion far surpasses Dogecoin's current market value of around $13.24 billion and its circulating supply of 155.88 billion DOGE.

Dogecoin's inflation structure is designed to prevent excessive supply growth, with an annual issuance fixed at 5 billion coins, which aims to reduce the token's inflation rate over time.
