Markus Sparks Dogecoin Rally with Mysterious Post
Dogecoin's cofounder Billy Markus sparked a wave of speculation when he posted 'We're So Back?' on X, triggering a rally in digital assets. The post was cryptic and didn't explicitly mention any specific asset, leaving market participants to debate its meaning.
The ambiguity of the message only added to the excitement as Dogecoin rose nearly 4% to around $0.088, while Bitcoin gained about 5% and Ethereum climbed close to 6%. Several altcoins, including Avalanche, Ethena, Morpho, Filecoin, Injective, and VeChain, advanced between 14% and 22%.
The market's confidence was also reflected in the Crypto Fear and Greed Index, which remained in 'greed' territory. Despite the Federal Reserve's quarter-point rate hike to a 3.75%-4% target range and the Senate's failure to advance the CLARITY Act, traders appeared unfazed.
Derivatives data showed that altcoin leverage was below risk thresholds, indicating a more cautious approach from market participants. Bitcoin also reclaimed its True Market Mean, suggesting a stronger market structure.
