Masked Thugs Attack UK Crypto Investor at Home
A British businessman was brutally attacked by masked intruders at his home in Solihull in December last year. The attackers, who knew he held cryptocurrency, threatened to kill his heavily pregnant wife unless he handed over hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of digital assets.
The couple, who wish to remain anonymous, described the attack as 'horrific' and said it left them fearing for their unborn child's life. The police are investigating the incident and Crimestoppers is offering a £10,000 reward for information leading to those responsible.
The attackers used a form of physical coercion known as a 'wrench attack', where criminals target investors directly to force them to surrender digital assets. The man, referred to as James, said three masked men forced their way into his home and subjected him to a 45-minute assault.
