Mastercard and Borderless Team Up for Stablecoin Payment Reliability
Mastercard and Borderless have partnered to improve the reliability of international stablecoin payments through joint testing. The companies will use Mastercard's Crypto Credential framework, which provides a common standard for verifying the identity and compliance of participants in blockchain transactions.
The joint testing aims to reduce the burden on businesses involved in cross-border transactions by enabling them to reuse verification results from one participant to another within their network. This would eliminate the need for repeated checks on each new business partner, streamlining the process and reducing costs.
Borderless provides a platform for stablecoin payments and has partnered with several companies, including Infinia, Walapay, and Koywe, which will participate in the joint testing. The test is expected to explore how Mastercard's Crypto Credential framework can be used to support the growth of international stablecoin transactions.
