Meme Coin Market Sees Mixed Results Amid Declining Prices
The meme coin market is experiencing a mixed bag of results as some stocks are seeing significant declines. Artificial Inu and Cash Cat, two prominent meme coins on the Robinhood Chain, have dropped 10.4% and 12.3%, respectively. However, despite these losses, activity has not slowed down, with the chain's 24-hour volume reaching $1.71 billion.
The stock-lock model is being put to the test as lockup ratios continue to rise even as meme prices decline. MEME, or A Meme Coin, holds more than 35% of AMC stock tokens and has seen its appeal grow due to the increasing quantity of tokenized AMC being locked away.
The largest declines in the market include GreenHood's 59.1% drop on $346,000 in volume, followed by The Black Bull's 13.8% decline and Cash Cat's 12.3% loss. These drops highlight the risks of thin markets where exits can become difficult.
The next thing to watch is whether lockup ratios continue to rise if meme prices keep declining, and whether MEME, BONER, and AI can retain their stock-token pools once trading activity cools down.
