Meme Coins Break Out as Bitcoin Reaches Eight-Month High
The meme coin market saw a surge in September 2026, with Dogwifhat (WIF), Pepe (PEPE), and Dogecoin (DOGE) breaking out of long-term chart patterns.
According to BeInCrypto, the breakouts occurred as Bitcoin (BTC) climbed to an eight-month high, reversing a slide that followed a Federal Reserve rate hike and a failed Senate procedural vote.
The largest meme coin, Dogecoin (DOGE), carved out a double bottom pattern, with both lows landing near $0.080 in August and September.
Monday's candle closed above the neckline at $0.095 on volume of 1.39 billion DOGE, about 47% above the 20-day average.
The breakout targets $0.1156, roughly 18% above the current price, but a daily close below $0.095 would invalidate the pattern.
