Mento Protocol Brings Decentralized FX Infrastructure to Polygon
Mento Protocol, a leading decentralized FX infrastructure, has launched its services on Polygon. This move brings Mento's stablecoin markets to one of the largest stablecoin ecosystems in crypto, with initial liquidity provided by day-one partner Capa. The launch supports trading pairs for USDm and EURm, with EURØP added as a reserve asset for EURm.
The deployment of Mento on Polygon expands the network's ability to connect local-currency stablecoin markets. This is significant because Polygon has become a hub for non-USD stablecoin activity, with over $11.1 billion in lifetime transfer volume and 43% of all non-USD transfers across major blockchains.
Mento's protocol provides a fixed price market maker (FPMM) design that offers real-world reference rates through trusted oracles, enabling predictable execution across currencies without volatile Automated Market Maker (AMM) curves. This model gives applications access to onchain FX markets with features of traditional FX markets: predictable reference-rate pricing and reliable execution.
