Mercuryo and Tangem Offer Zero-Fee USDC Purchases on Stellar
Payment platform Mercuryo and self-custodial hardware wallet provider Tangem have collaborated on a limited-time promotion that waives fees for eligible users to purchase USD Coin (USDC) directly into their Tangem wallets via the Stellar network.
The zero-fee campaign, which began on September 15th and runs for four weeks or until allocation is exhausted, allows users in selected regions to buy USDC using credit or debit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. The promotion applies to transactions of at least $150 (or 150 euros) with a maximum purchase limit of $700 (or 700 euros).
However, users must first hold a balance of Stellar's native asset, XLM, in their Tangem wallets before making the USDC purchase. For those without an existing XLM balance, they can initially buy between 10 and 50 euros' worth of XLM through the wallet to meet the requirement.
Mercuryo Chief Business Officer Arthur Firstov stated that this initiative aims to make USDC more accessible to Tangem users as stablecoins become increasingly used in the digital-asset ecosystem.
