Meta Adds USDC Funding Option for Advertisers in Select Countries
Meta has expanded its payment options for advertisers by allowing them to fund their ad accounts using USDC, a dollar-pegged stablecoin. This new option is available in selected countries and may be most useful for cross-border agencies, crypto-native brands, and teams that already hold USDC. The process involves sending USDC from a crypto wallet to a third-party payment partner, which converts the funds into local currency before settling with Meta.
The corresponding amount appears as a prepaid balance in the ad account, and campaign spending and balances still appear in conventional currency inside Ads Manager. Advertisers are not buying ads priced in crypto, but rather using USDC as a funding rail while their working balance remains fiat-denominated ad credit.
Faster funding does not mean risk-free funding, however. Blockchain transfers are generally irreversible, and advertisers are responsible for the security of the wallet used to make the payment. Refunds are also limited, with eligible refunds returned as ad credit rather than USDC sent back to the original wallet.
