Meta Platforms has confirmed that it will start deploying its new in-house AI chip in data centers in H1 2027. The move is expected to reduce costs and energy use, according to Bloomberg.

The company is testing its third-generation chip, MTIA 450, or Arke, while the next model, MTIA 500, or Astrid, will complete design work in about a month and begin deployment by the end of 2027. This development comes as Meta continues to invest heavily in artificial intelligence research.

The company's confirmation follows Bloomberg's earlier report on Tuesday, which cited an interview with Yee Jiun Song, vice president of engineering. The report highlighted the potential benefits of the new AI chip, including reduced costs and energy use.
