Meta Sued Over Alleged Crypto Scam Ads on Facebook and Instagram

Share

Three individuals are suing Meta over cryptocurrency scams on Facebook and Instagram.

The plaintiffs, who claim to have been bilked by scammers, allege that Meta's generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools enhanced the effectiveness of fraudulent advertisements.

The tools allegedly generated hundreds of variations optimized to drive engagement from vulnerable users.

The plaintiffs also contend that Meta knows or should know its AI tools contribute to the creation and optimization of false and deceptive advertisements.
