Meta Takes Aim at Premium VR Market with $1,299 Glasses
Meta has made its most aggressive move yet in the spatial computing market with the launch of its Meta VR Glasses, priced at $1,299.
The glasses are smaller and lighter than both Meta's Quest lineup and Apple's Vision Pro, which launched at $3,499.
The device will ship in spring 2027 and features a 5K micro-OLED display with 37 pixels per degree, eye and hand tracking, and the ability to work with existing Quest controllers and content library.
The glasses are tethered to an external compute puck that clips onto the user's body, which has historically been a barrier for mainstream adoption in VR devices.
