MetaDAO Launches Backable Permissionless Fundraising on Solana
MetaDAO has introduced Backable, a new permissionless fundraising platform built on Solana. Formerly known as Futardio, the platform was rebranded on October 5, 2026, and has already attracted $44.2 million in total commitments from 2,407 backers. Backable allows founders to launch fundraising campaigns without any vetting or curation by MetaDAO, making it accessible to anyone looking to raise capital.
The platform operates on a simple principle: founders create campaigns, and supporters commit funds to the ones they prefer. All funds are held in escrow until the project meets its minimum funding goal. If a project fails to reach its target, backers receive a full refund. Funded teams are also subject to a pre-set budget that is disbursed monthly, ensuring responsible use of the capital.
So far, Backable has successfully completed twelve raises, bringing in approximately $728,000. The median contribution from backers stands at around $500. The platform's approach shifts the responsibility of due diligence entirely to the backers, as MetaDAO does not vet or curate the teams.
MetaDAO initially emerged in November 2023 with a focus on futarchy, a governance approach using prediction markets. Over time, the project has evolved to combine decision-making via prediction markets with a framework for community-supported capital formation. Backable represents a significant step in this evolution, offering founders access to a global pool of supporters and backers a safer way to invest in promising projects.
