MetaMask has initiated validator exits after identifying a security incident involving part of its staking infrastructure. The company is coordinating its response with Lido Finance, clients, and security advisers.

Lido expects the affected validators to complete their exits by October 7, 2026. However, the full process could take approximately 45 days due to Ethereum's extended validator entry queue.

The incident occurred in MetaMask Staking, previously known as Consensys Staking. Lido described it as an infrastructure compromise involving MetaMask's non-custodial staking operations.
