MetaMask Security Incident and Blast Shutdown Roil Ethereum Market

The Ethereum network was rocked by two major developments this week. A security incident affected part of MetaMask's infrastructure, but according to Consensys founder Joseph Lubin, no user wallets or funds were compromised.

Lubin stated that his team found no sign of harm to MetaMask wallets or customer funds as a result of the security incident.

However, as a precautionary measure, validator keys were rotated. This means that affected validators must exit and rejoin the staking queue, which may lead to missed rewards for stakers.
